      Suffolk Highways -A12 Foxhall / Bucklesham - Upcoming Works - 29 June to 1 July 2020 - 10pm - 5am

      Weare planning to carry out overnight works to install and refresh the road markings on the A12 Slip on at the Seven Hills Roundabout from the A14 Nacton, and on the A12 Bucklesham to A12 Foxhall heading North for 120 metres The works are scheduled in the period between the 27 June and 1 July 2020, between the hours of 10pm and 5am. This will require a temporary road closure so that we can carry out our works safely.

      Suffolk Highways Road Closure - Upcoming Works - C322 Foxhall Road, Kesgrave / Rushmere St Andrew - 22 to 27 June 2020 - 7pm to 5am

      We are planning to carry out overnight road resurfacing works on Foxhall Road, Rushmere St Andrew / Kesgrave from the descent into the dip before Nuffield Hospital (o/s No.827)  to just past the Bell Lane / Monument Farm Lane Crossroads. The works are due to be carried out between 22 and 27 June during the hours of 7pm and 5am. We estimate that the works will take approximately 5 nights to complete. This will require a temporary road closure (from Broadlands Way to Dobbs Lane) so that we can carry out our works safely.

      Restart date for garden waste collection service

      East Suffolk Council has set a date for the resumption of its garden waste collection service.

      Operations will restart on Bank Holiday Monday May 25, following an earlier suspension due to the impact of COVID-19, and all subscribers will receive their first collection during the subsequent fortnight.

      There are reports from Suffolk businesses who've been contacted by a company offering to "assist them in obtaining their Government Grant, for a small one-off fixed fee of £99". This is a scam.

      East Suffolk Council encourages businesses to apply for funding

      East Suffolk Council is now processing the payment of grants for local businesses provided by the government in response to the COVID-19 outbreak.

      Eligible businesses are being asked to complete a straightforward online form which will capture the data required by central government and allow the Council to make payment to each eligible business as soon as possible.

      Police Connect - Residents urged to be vigilant following courier fraud scam

      Police Connect

      Police are urging residents to be vigilant after an elderly woman was targeted by telephone scammers. The incident was reported to police on Tuesday 10 March, by a bank in Bury St Edmunds, after a woman, aged in her 80s, from a nearby village, was persuaded to transfer a large sum of money by telephone scammers pretending to be from the fraud department.
